ESEA Word Competition
Have your say in what our name will be! Hackney Chinese Community Services are looking for word submissions from the ESEA community in the UK to help build a name that better reflects the community we serve. 6 words will be chosen by our judging panel of creatives and HCCS management and the shortlisted 3 will be given seats at a lip-smacking ESEA supper club held at the centre in October!
A Celebration of BESEA Designers
In conjunction with the launch of the first ever ESEA Heritage Month in September, the BESEA Designers LinkedIn group will be proudly running an inaugural meeting in celebration. A panel of speakers will lead and facilitate and open conversation to discuss our experiences as a BESEA Designer. The hopes is to promote awareness and positive representation of BESEA Designers and create a network and shared place for like minded designers.

Keira May Yoga
A restorative yoga session followed by meditation and then an opportunity for people to engage in conversation about how they've experienced ESEA heritage month, things they've learned and want to share and express with their community in a safe and supportive space.
In the excitement of finding our community we can often cause ourselves to burn out with an overload of information. This will be a session for you to focus on your wellbeing and share your experience with the ESEA community.
Absolutely no yoga experience necessary, this session will be accessible to most bodies. Please inform me beforehand of any accessibility needs you are concerned about. As an Accessible Yoga Teacher I strive to be as inclusive as possible.
This session is open to all people celebrating ESEA Heritage Month.

For the first time in BESEA history we are bringing together a showcase of live performances from up and coming BESEA music artists and performers. This is the first drop creating ripples in a big wave.

Fragrant Memories
Online showcase of illustrations that celebrate my Chinese Heritage and the food which hold significant meaning to me. Memories of cooking with my family, eating dim sum in Chinatown, and childhood treats are sources of inspiration. A portion of proceeds from print sales will be donated to Chinese Community Centre Birmingham.

A celebration of the stories and legacy of ESEA people who came to the UK to work for the NHS.An official Besea.n Heritage Month event
Ingat-Ingat is mixed media exhibition throwing a spotlight on the real human stories of those that left their homes in East Asian and South East Asian to join our National Health service. Told by the people themselves, curated by Becky Hoh-Hale the daughter of Malaysian-Chinese mental health nurse Hoh Min Leong (Leon) who came to Essex, UK, in 1975 to train with the NHS and has been here ever since.
