NEW! July Active Bystander Training workshop dates

Our first active bystander training workshop in collaboration with Protection Approaches who facilitated the session on June 29th, 2021 was a huge success and now we have two new dates: July 19th and July 27th.

Often we’re asked how individuals can help ESEA people in the light of rising hate incidents, especially when we’ve experienced lack of support from bystanders in the heat of the moment who may not know how to react. Our response is for people to learn how to be an active bystander, however, these workshops are not widely available in the UK, despite being invaluable for giving people tools on how to safely and effectively de-escalate a racist incident. We have been fortunate to be able to develop this session together with Protection Approaches who are experienced in delivering active bystander workshops and have years of experience in this sector. Anyone can take part and the training can be adapted to disrupt any act of identity-based violence. It will also offer advice and be useful for victims who may be subject to harassment too.

Feel free to share the flyer below and remember to sign up as soon as possible. Places are limited in order to maximise interaction between participants and offer the best possible experience for everyone involved. If you have any questions, feel free to email us and look forward to seeing you there!
